Years of experience in this field
At Advance Nursing, we are dedicated to supporting aged care providers by maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of their staffing needs.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a government-funded initiative that
provides support to Australians living with permanent and significant disabilities. The
scheme is designed to give participants greater choice, flexibility, and control over the
services they receive, empowering them to lead more independent and fulfilling lives.

The NDIS currently supports over 500,000 Australians, including around 80,000 children
with developmental delay. Early intervention supports are available to help children and
families achieve better long-term outcomes.
Each NDIS plan is tailored to the participant’s unique needs and goals and reviewed
regularly to ensure it stays relevant as those needs evolve.
As a registered NDIS provider, our organisation is committed to delivering high-quality,
person-centred support. We work in partnership with participants to help them get the
most from their NDIS plan, navigate services confidently, and live life on their own
terms.
To ensure the best fit for the NDIS, there are certain eligibility criteria in place. If you’re
considering taking this path, here’s a quick glance at the primary eligibility
requirements:

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is built upon key values that prioritise
equality, accessibility, and individualised assistance for every participant.
The individual must have a permanent disability that continues throughout life and
limits their ability to carry out daily tasks independently.
This includes a considerable impact on functional abilities or mental health, influencing
regular routines, personal care, or social engagement.
There must be a current or anticipated need for assistance—whether to enhance daily
living, address the challenges posed by the condition, or help reduce future reliance on
support services.

To qualify for support under the NDIS, individuals must be living with a long-term
disability or a substantial functional limitation that impacts their ability to manage dayto-day tasks independently. This condition should be expected to continue indefinitely
or for a prolonged period. The NDIS does not cover short-term injuries or health
conditions that are likely to improve over time.
Access to the NDIS depends not just on age, but also on where you reside in Australia.
You must be under the age of 65 when applying. Additionally, applicants must be
Australian citizens, permanent residents, or holders of a Protected Special Category
Visa (PSCV). Those over 65 who need support may be eligible for services through
government programs such as Aged Care.
The NDIS assesses eligibility through an evaluation of how your disability affects your
everyday life. This involves a review of how your condition limits your ability to engage in
daily routines, participate in community or work settings, and maintain personal
independence. You’ll need to provide comprehensive documentation outlining your
current abilities, any challenges you experience, and how they affect key areas like
movement, communication, personal care, and relationships. Reports or statements
from medical practitioners, allied health professionals, or specialists involved in your
care may also be required.
Beginning your NDIS experience with us is simple and supportive. We’re here to hear
your voice, learn about your needs, and help shape a plan that works for you. Connect
with us, tell us your journey, and let’s build a personalised support pathway—made just
for you.
6 STEPS
Understanding the steps in our planning process is crucial for ensuring you receive the best care tailored to your needs.
Your journey starts with a one-on-one consultation where we get to know you, your aspirations, and your unique needs, laying the foundation for a personalised plan.
We'll conduct a comprehensive assessment, and together, we'll set clear, achievable goals ensuring your care aligns with your aspirations.
Based on our discussions and assessments, a customised care plan is crafted, focusing on your individual needs and the desired outcomes.
Once the plan is developed, we'll review it together, making sure every detail aligns with your expectations before finalising and seeking necessary approvals.
With an approved plan in hand, the carefully chosen services commence, ensuring you receive the support and resources vital for your journey.
Your feedback is paramount. We'll regularly check-in and review the plan's progress, making any necessary adjustments to ensure it continues to serve your best interests.
There are three options to manage your NDIS funding
NDIS Self-Management
Self-managing your NDIS plan gives you full control over your funding. You choose your providers (registered or not), negotiate pricing, and manage how and when supports are delivered.
Benefits include:
• Greater flexibility and choice
• Ability to hire your own staff or contractors
• Control over your budget and services
• Access to unique or tailored supports
Your responsibilities:
• Pay for approved supports only
• Keep records (receipts/invoices) for 5 years
• Manage payments and claims
• Follow legal obligations if employing staff
Is It Right for You?
Self-management is ideal if you want more independence and are confident
managing budgets and services. You can also combine self-management with
other funding options, depending on your needs.
Plan-Managing Your NDIS Funding
Plan management allows you to choose your providers while a registered Plan
Manager takes care of the financial administration. They pay invoices, keep track
of your spending, and provide you with regular budget reports.
Benefits include:
• Access to both registered and unregistered providers
• Less paperwork and admin – your Plan Manager handles claims and payments
• Help with budgeting and tracking your funds
• No out-of-pocket cost – NDIS covers the Plan Manager’s fees
Your responsibilities:
• Choose and engage your own Plan Manager
• Approve supports and services in line with your plan
• Sign a service agreement with your Plan Manager
• Stay informed about your budget and spending
Is It Right for You?
Plan management is ideal if you want flexibility in choosing providers but prefer
someone else to manage the financial side of your plan. It offers the freedom of
self-management with the support of expert assistance. You can also combine
plan management with other funding options to suit your lifestyle.
NDIA-Managed Your NDIS Funding
With NDIA-managed funding (also known as Agency-managed), the NDIA pays
your registered providers directly and handles all financial administration.
Benefits include:
• No paperwork or claims—you don’t manage invoices or payments
• Bookkeeping and record-keeping handled by NDIA
• Access only to NDIS-registered providers, ensuring quality and compliance
• Track spending easily via my place portal
Your responsibilities:
• Choose and arrange services with registered providers only
• Keep your supports in line with your approved NDIS plan goals
• Monitor your budget and claims through the portal
Is It Right for You?
NDIA-management is ideal if you prefer minimal administrative tasks and want
someone else to handle the financial side. It offers limited flexibility, but
significant ease and reliability. You can also mix this with plan or selfmanagement as part of a hybrid approach.
